Psychiatry/Counseling

Behavioral Health Services

Legacy’s behavioral health services include both counseling and psychiatry for children, adolescents and adults. Children and adolescents might benefit from behavioral health services if they cannot perform at school, are sad or depressed, show aggressive or antisocial behavior, cannot relate to other children, or are hyperactive. Adults might benefit from behavioral health services if they have emotions that interfere with their work, family and/or social life, feel constantly depressed, have recurring suicidal thoughts, or have anxiety (feel “stressed”).

All behavioral health services are available on a sliding fee scale based on your annual income.

We also accept Medicaid, Medicare and many health insurance plans.

Psychiatry

Legacy’s psychiatric services attempt to improve well-being by relieving mental suffering associated with symptoms of mental disorders. By providing psychiatric counseling and/or prescribing medications Legacy’s psychiatrists work with each client to manage the symptoms of mental illness and improve his/her quality of life. Legacy employees are specially equipped to treat children, adolescents, and adults and are highly knowledgeable of the specific issues confronting each group. Legacy staff can also help clients and their families adjust to the changes of adolescence, and even help adults deal with the stress of daily life.

Counseling

Legacy offers individual couples, and group counseling services to children, adolescents and adults to address a broad variety of emotional, relationship, and behavioral issues. These services can benefit you by improving day-to-day functioning and quality of life. Counseling staff specialize in interpreting the challenging actions and reactions of children toward their environment during play therapy. This enables both the child and his/her family to gain a better understanding of the child’s mental health. Services offered in English, Spanish, and French.
