Southeast East Texas Atheist Helping the Homeless
March 13, 2016, 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm
Legacy will be on hand helping to hand out sack lunches, clothing, shoes, toiletries and more.
We’ll also be answering any questions about Legacy and our services.
Once a month, SEXTAHH coordinates family friendly giveaway of basic living items (including tolietries, socks, indidually-packaged and ready-to-eat snack and nonperishable meal items, toothbrushes, clothing items, toilet paper, combs, nail clippers, hygiene items like tampons, pads, soap, shampoo, deodorant, etc…) to the homeless population in our area. We accept donations of these items for distribution. If you’d like to donate to this cause, get in touch with Rob Mcwilliams for specifics on sizes and products and he’ll arrange a volunteer to meet you for pickup of your donation. You can use our Amazon wishlist as a buying guide and/or order directly from it and it’ll ship to us for distribution at an upcoming monthly giveaway:
Our group events are run by secular volunteers and the success of our events depends on the community’s generous contributions. We welcome ANY volunteers from the local community to participate in our events regardless of whether you identify as atheist but we insist that absolutely no religious materials are distributed during our event and no proselytization on behalf of any religious groups volunteers might be associated with. Our events aren’t the place for religious debate. If you’re looking for forums for that purpose, we’ll gladly direct you.
Remember, ALL of our events are family friendly and the kids also enjoy helping and making new friends. It is never too early to teach kids the value of helping.
