New two‑story clinic will help close critical care gaps in Pasadena
HOUSTON, TX (April 1, 2026) – Pasadena will take a major step toward expanding health care access on Thursday, April 23, 2026, with the grand opening of the new Legacy Pasadena Southmore Clinic. The two‑story, 37,000‑plus‑square‑foot facility is designed to bring comprehensive, affordable care under one roof in a community where nearly one in three residents lacks health insurance and child uninsured rates are more than double the national average. This event will mark the opening of a clinic designed to deliver comprehensive care under one roof for Pasadena families.
This milestone is made possible through Legacy Community Health’s long‑standing partnership with Houston Methodist and a transformational gift of more than $50 million supporting new health facilities in both Pasadena and Acres Homes. Leadership from both organizations, along with elected officials and community partners, will join to celebrate the opening.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The new two‑story clinic—designed by Kirksey Architects and built by Harvey Cleary Builders—will significantly expand access to essential, family‑centered care for the Pasadena-area community. Services include adult and pediatric primary care, OB/GYN, behavioral health, X‑ray imaging, wraparound support services, and, beginning in late summer 2026, on‑site dental and pharmacy services.
Pasadena faces some of the most pressing health challenges in the region: nearly one in three residents lacks health insurance, and the child uninsured rate is more than double the national average. By bringing comprehensive, affordable care together under one roof, the new clinic will help close these longstanding gaps and improve access for families who have historically faced barriers to consistent health services.
The clinic will also serve as the new home of the Houston Methodist Family Medicine Residency Program, which is moving from Legacy San Jacinto to Legacy Pasadena Southmore. The program brings physician trainees on‑site to support patient care, expand clinical capacity, and strengthen continuity of care for Pasadena families.
