Alejandra Zuniga, Perinatal Navigation Director
As Director of Perinatal Navigation at Legacy Community Health, Alejandra Zuniga provides strategic, operational, and clinical leadership of Legacy’s obstetric services across the continuum of care in partnership with the medical directors from the OB/Gyn and pediatric service lines. She leads interdisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered, evidence-based care and improve maternal and infant health outcomes.
Alejandra drives initiatives that address social determinants of health, enhance patient retention, and promote culturally competent care. Her work includes implementing quality improvement strategies to reduce maternal morbidity and mortality and leveraging data-driven insights to optimize care delivery. Alejandra has successfully developed and expanded innovative programs, including Legacy’s Walk-In Pregnancy Testing Dashboard, Legacy’s Becoming a Mom program, Delfina Care, the Peripartum Pediatric Navigation program, and the Perinatal Navigation program. She collaborates closely with clinical teams, community partners, and delivery hospitals to ensure seamless transitions and equitable access to services.
Alejandra holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Foods and Nutrition from the University of Houston. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her two daughters and family.
