Dr. Rubina Khan has been an integral part of Legacy for the past eight years. Dr. Khan attended Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan, followed by a year of training in both Internal Medicine and General Surgery before moving to the United States in 1989. She then completed her pediatric residency at Baylor College of Medicine.

Before joining Legacy, Dr. Khan’s extensive experience in private practice and as Associate Medical Director at Amerigroup equipped her with invaluable insights into serving diverse populations, including immigrants and the underserved.

Since integrating her private practice with Legacy, Dr. Khan brought a dedicated team of providers and staff with a wealth of experience in pediatric care. She has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and a commitment to providing quality care to our community. Over the years, Dr. Khan has held various positions of leadership, including Clinic Lead and Associate Medical Director of Pediatrics. She has been part of our Peer Review Committee and Clinician Onboarding team and has been instrumental in defining and promoting quality practices within her department.

As Legacy’s Medical Director of Pediatrics, Dr. Khan defines, promotes and reviews quality practices for her department and the sites in which clinicians work. She also serves as a community representative in the field of pediatrics and develops processes for ensuring continuity across patient transitions of care.

Dr. Khan’s dedication extends beyond her professional life, as evidenced by her involvement in running a not-for-profit activity center for deafblind individuals. She and her husband have five children, two of whom joined their family through adoption. Their eldest daughter is deafblind. For leisure, Dr. Khan loves traveling and reading historical fiction.
