Roma Bhatt, LPC-S, has spent more than 12 years at Legacy, serving as the Senior Director of School Based Behavioral Health. She joined Legacy in 2011 as a clinic-based therapist, then in 2015, she became Legacy’s Therapy Director for Central Houston where she oversaw four Legacy clinics. In 2020 Bhatt was promoted to her current role and she also served temporarily as the Interim Vice President of Operations for School-Based Health Care in 2023.

As Legacy’s Senior Director of School Based Behavioral Health, she oversees a large multidisciplinary team of over 40 licensed behavioral health therapists and three child and adolescent psychiatrists across three school districts, in 37 school-based health clinics. Bhatt led Legacy’s inaugural Wellness Committee, aiming to improve the quality of life of Legacy providers. She also played a significant role in creating therapist retention plans and increasing provider wellness.

Bhatt is bilingual in English and Gujarati, and linguistically competent in Spanish and Hindi as well. She has testified twice at the state legislature as a champion for school-based health care and is an advocate for the state’s most vulnerable populations. Bhatt enjoys working with children, adolescents and young adults in both individual and group settings. These groups deal with a wide variety of issues, including adjustment disorder, ADHD, behavioral problems, parenting training, depression, and relational issues. Her goal in therapy is to help her patients learn effective coping mechanisms to deal with their distress and acquire the tools necessary to maximize their full potential. She hopes her patients can apply the lessons from therapy to lead happier, healthier lives on their own.

Bhatt is a Licensed Professional Counselor and is certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at Austin College and her Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling from Argosy University. Before joining Legacy, Bhatt worked as a psychotherapist at The Harris Center and as a psychotherapist at Child and Family Guidance Center.

In addition to her work with Legacy, Bhatt has been a longstanding member of the American Counseling Association for over a decade and frequently presents on mental health topics for local communities, churches and temples.

When she’s not working, Bhatt is a self-proclaimed foodie exploring the Houston food scene and introducing her friends to new foods. She enjoys viewing new sites and making long-lasting memories with her friends and family, especially with her son.
