Thi Yuan, Director of Pharmacy Data/IT Systems
Thi Yuan, PharmD, CPHIMS, joined Legacy Community Health in 2020. To date, she has over 22 years of both inpatient and ambulatory pharmacy experience, including oncology services, drug information management, and informatics. She leverages her extensive expertise to support Legacy’s mission and expand pharmacy services to at-risk populations.
Among the many pharmacy expansion initiatives at Legacy, Thi has led efforts to introduce, standardize, and streamline technical pharmacy systems, such as pharmacy dispensers at Montrose Pharmacy and Central Fill Pharmacy. She also provided medication management expertise during Legacy’s transition to Epic. Under her leadership, her team has automated most of the pharmacy reporting and created impactful analytics to drive financials, productivity, and outcomes for the department.
Prior to joining Legacy, Thi was instrumental in leading numerous pharmacy technological projects at Texas Children’s Hospital. Her focus was on optimizing EMR build, pharmacy IT systems, and clinical workflows to enhance patient safety and operational efficiency. These projects included the Epic implementation, expansion of services with the opening of Pavilion for Women and Legacy Tower, Beacon implementation converting over 400 pediatric oncological protocols from paper to Epic and centralizing medication automation.
As Director of Pharmacy Data/IT Systems, Thi continues to guide pharmacy IT initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements at Legacy. She excels at bridging clinical and technical teams, finding solutions that improve medication management and patient outcomes. Her proven ability to lead system integrations, workflow automation, and data-driven performance improvements in unique healthcare environments has been instrumental in advancing Legacy Community Health’s pharmacy services.
Thi holds a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from the University of Houston and is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMSâ„¢). She also holds Epic certifications in Willow and Beacon.
Outside of work, Thi enjoys reading, spending time with her family, which includes her husband and two teenagers, traveling, and exploring all the delicious food Houston has to offer.
