Obamacare Enrollment for 2019 is approaching: What’s changed and what’s new

By Barrett White

Are you ready to sign up for health insurance made possible by the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare? The marketplace enrollment begins on November 1 and will work like it has in previous years. The period will be 45 days, leaving you with little time to decide on your healthcare plan of choice, so we recommend researching plans ahead of time so that you can get in and get out, without risking running out of time.

The good news is that the Houston Chronicle recently reported that marketplace rates might to drop for 2019. This means that health insurance for you and your family may be more affordable than it has been for the last few years. It’s too early to know the rates, however.

Each year, Legacy has Certified Application Counselors (CAC) on site during open enrollment to help you through the process so that you know exactly what plan works for you and what kind of coverage your plan is good for. This year, CACs will be present at all Legacy sites from October 22nd to December 15th. You can call ahead at (832) 548-5000 to schedule an appointment with our team. Get enrolled this year with a CAC so you don’t lose your coverage for 2019.

Enrollment for 2019 begins November 1, 2018, and will end on December 15, 2018.
